CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.
CWE-74 The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-103113 is a second-order SQL injection flaw in openSIS Classic 9.3. It allows an attacker with admin rights to inject malicious SQL code into custom student fields. The payload is stored in the database and later executed when users perform student searches. The issue occurs because the system field title, which can include a tab character, is directly concatenated into SQL queries without proper sanitization or parameterization.

Detection Guidance

Check for unusual SQL query patterns in logs, especially those involving the custom_fields.TITLE column or student search operations. Monitor database activity for time-delay queries or unexpected data extraction attempts.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to execute arbitrary SQL commands, including time-delay attacks to extract database content. This could lead to unauthorized data access, modification, or deletion. Even low-privileged users like teachers could be affected when performing routine student searches.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or exposure of sensitive data, violating GDPR and HIPAA requirements for data protection and confidentiality. Non-compliance may result in legal penalties, fines, or reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply input validation for custom field titles to prevent tab characters and malicious SQL payloads. Replace direct SQL query concatenation with parameterized queries in the Student.php module and related components.
