Executive Summary

CVE-2026-12342 is an improper input validation flaw in SailPoint IdentityIQ. It allows unauthenticated users to execute remote code on the server by submitting specially crafted web service API content. The issue stems from IdentityIQ failing to properly validate user input before processing it.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, monitor IdentityIQ server logs for unusual API requests or form submissions. Check for unexpected remote code execution attempts or unauthorized access patterns. Review network traffic for connections to IdentityIQ ports from untrusted sources.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to gain full control over the IdentityIQ server, steal sensitive data, or disrupt services. Since it requires no authentication, the attack surface is broad and could affect any exposed instance of IdentityIQ.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to personal or health data, violating GDPR and HIPAA requirements for data protection and access controls. Organizations using IdentityIQ may face compliance violations, fines, or legal consequences if exploited.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest IdentityIQ patches from SailPoint immediately. Restrict network access to IdentityIQ servers to trusted sources only. Implement strict input validation for all API and form submissions. Monitor for suspicious activity and disable vulnerable services if patches are unavailable.
