Executive Summary

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.2 has a directory traversal vulnerability. An authenticated attacker can use specially crafted URLs with dot dot sequences (/../) to access arbitrary files on the system.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, check for unusual file access patterns or requests containing "/../" sequences in web server logs. Manually inspect URLs for directory traversal attempts. Ensure IBM Langflow OSS versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.2 are updated to the latest version.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers to read sensitive files on the system, potentially exposing confidential data, configuration files, or other restricted information if they have valid authentication credentials.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could potentially expose sensitive files on the system, which may include personal data or protected health information. Unauthorized access to such data could lead to violations of GDPR or HIPAA if the exposed files contain regulated information.

Mitigation Strategies

Update IBM Langflow OSS to the latest version beyond 1.10.2 to address the directory traversal vulnerability. Ensure proper access controls are in place to limit authenticated user permissions.
