Executive Summary

IBM Langflow OSS versions 1.0.0 through 1.10.2 have a directory traversal vulnerability. This allows a remote attacker to access files outside intended directories by sending a URL with 'dot dot' sequences like /../. The attacker could view sensitive files on the system.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to read sensitive files on the server, including configuration files, logs, or other confidential data. This may lead to information disclosure, unauthorized access, or further attacks if credentials or keys are exposed.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to non-compliance with GDPR or HIPAA by exposing personal or health data. GDPR requires protecting personal data, while HIPAA mandates safeguarding health information. A breach could result in legal penalties and reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Update IBM Langflow OSS to a version beyond 1.10.2 to address the directory traversal vulnerability. Ensure proper input validation for URL requests to prevent "dot dot" sequences from being processed.
