Description

GLPI is a free asset and IT management software package. From 0.70 until 10.0.26 and 11.0.8, an authenticated hotliner or technician can submit crafted criteria through the user import feature to bypass the configured default LDAP filter. Executive Summary

This vulnerability in GLPI allows an authenticated hotliner or technician to bypass the default LDAP filter through crafted criteria in the user import feature. This can grant access to LDAP objects that should have been excluded by the filter.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability requires authenticated access to exploit and involves bypassing LDAP filters via crafted criteria in the user import feature. Detection would involve reviewing GLPI logs for suspicious import operations, particularly from authenticated hotliners or technicians, and checking for LDAP queries that bypass expected filters. No specific commands are provided in the context.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with access could retrieve unauthorized LDAP objects, potentially exposing sensitive user or system information. This could lead to data breaches or unauthorized access to restricted resources.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data exposure, violating compliance requirements for data protection such as GDPR or HIPAA. It may result in legal penalties, loss of trust, and increased scrutiny.

Mitigation Strategies

Update GLPI to version 11.0.8 or 10.0.26 or later to fix the LDAP filter bypass issue.
