CWE ID Description
CWE-190 The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This occurs when an integer value is incremented to a value that is too large to store in the associated representation. When this occurs, the value may become a very small or negative number.

Executive Summary

This vulnerability in NVIDIA DeepStream involves an integer overflow triggered by crafted tensor dimensions in a YAML configuration file. This could allow an attacker to cause denial of service, information disclosure, or data tampering.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, inspect YAML configuration files used by NVIDIA DeepStream for tensor dimensions. Look for unusually large or malformed values that could trigger integer overflows. Check logs for crashes or memory corruption during DeepStream operations.

Impact Analysis

The vulnerability may lead to denial of service, unauthorized access to sensitive information, or unauthorized modification of data processed by NVIDIA DeepStream.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could impact compliance with GDPR and HIPAA by enabling denial of service, information disclosure, or data tampering through crafted tensor dimensions in YAML files. Such exploits may violate data integrity and confidentiality requirements under these regulations.

Mitigation Strategies

Update NVIDIA DeepStream to the latest version to address the integer overflow vulnerability in tensor dimensions. Validate YAML configuration files for malicious tensor dimensions before deployment. Monitor system logs for unusual activity related to tensor processing.
