Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, check if your Oracle WebLogic Server versions 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, or 15.1.1.0.0 are exposed to network access via T3 or IIOP protocols. Monitor logs for unusual activity or unauthorized access attempts targeting these ports.

Impact Analysis

If you use affected versions of Oracle WebLogic Server (12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, or 15.1.1.0.0), an attacker could gain full control of your server. This could lead to data breaches, unauthorized access to sensitive information, disruption of services, or further network compromise.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to non-compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulations due to unauthorized access to personal or sensitive data. A successful attack may result in data breaches, violating confidentiality requirements and potentially leading to legal penalties or loss of certification.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest security patches from Oracle immediately. Restrict network access to T3 and IIOP ports using firewalls. Disable unnecessary services and protocols. Monitor for suspicious activity and update intrusion detection systems.
