Description

A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Dbit T-CPE301K 4G WiFi minirouter allows an authenticated attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) and a system reboot via a manipulated HTTP POST request directed at the endpoint β€˜/js/common/do_cmd.js’ endpoint containing an excessively long parameter, which overwrites the PC and RA registers.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-7192 is a stack-based buffer overflow in the Dbit T-CPE301K 4G WiFi minirouter. An authenticated attacker can exploit it by sending a crafted HTTP POST request to the '/js/common/do_cmd.js' endpoint with an overly long parameter. This overflow overwrites critical registers like PC and RA, causing a denial of service (DoS) and system reboot.

Detection Guidance

Monitor network traffic for unusually long HTTP POST requests targeting the '/js/common/do_cmd.js' endpoint. Check for repeated requests or system reboots without user interaction. Use intrusion detection systems (IDS) to flag suspicious payloads exceeding normal parameter lengths.

Impact Analysis

If you own or use the Dbit T-CPE301K 4G WiFi minirouter, an attacker could exploit this flaw to crash your device, disrupting network services. Since the attack requires authentication, unauthorized users cannot exploit it directly, but compromised credentials could enable attacks.

Mitigation Strategies

Isolate the affected device from critical network segments. Restrict access to the '/js/common/do_cmd.js' endpoint via firewall rules. Monitor for unauthorized access attempts. Apply network-level mitigations until an official patch is released.
