Executive Summary

This vulnerability allows an authenticated low privilege operator user with local access to view sensitive information in HPE Networking Fabric Composer. Exploitation could lead to unauthorized access beyond the user's privilege level.

Detection Guidance

Since this vulnerability involves local access and authenticated users with low privileges, detection may require checking system logs for unauthorized access attempts or privilege escalation events. Review user activity logs and access controls for the HPE Networking Fabric Composer dependencies. Ensure all operator accounts follow the principle of least privilege and monitor for any unusual data access patterns.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could access sensitive data they are not authorized to see, potentially leading to further unauthorized access or data breaches.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, which may violate compliance requirements under GDPR and HIPAA. Exposure of sensitive information beyond authorized privilege levels risks breaches of confidentiality and data protection principles.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest security patches provided by HPE for Networking Fabric Composer to address the vulnerability in the underlying operating system. Ensure that only authorized users have local access to upstream AFC dependencies and review user privilege levels to restrict sensitive data access.
