Executive Summary

This is a critical vulnerability in Oracle Forms, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware. It allows an unauthenticated attacker to remotely compromise the system via HTTP without needing any credentials. Successful exploitation could lead to complete takeover of the Oracle Forms service.

Detection Guidance

Detection requires checking for Oracle Forms versions 12.2.1.19.0 or 14.1.2.0.0. Verify installed versions via Oracle Fusion Middleware documentation or system logs. Network scanning for HTTP services hosting Oracle Forms may help identify exposed instances.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle Forms versions 12.2.1.19.0 or 14.1.2.0.0, an attacker could gain full control over your Oracle Forms system. This could lead to unauthorized access, data theft, system manipulation, or disruption of services.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access and data breaches, which would violate GDPR and HIPAA requirements for data protection and confidentiality. Organizations using affected versions must address this to maintain compliance.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply Oracle's official patches or updates for affected versions immediately. If patches are unavailable, restrict network access to Oracle Forms via firewalls or disable HTTP access until updates are applied. Monitor Oracle's security advisories for updates.
