Executive Summary

This is a vulnerability in Oracle Demand Signal Repository, part of Oracle E-Business Suite. It affects versions 12.2.3 to 12.2.15. A low-privileged attacker with network access via HTTP can exploit it to compromise the system. Successful exploitation allows unauthorized creation, deletion, or modification of critical data, as well as causing a denial of service (DOS) by crashing the system repeatedly.

Detection Guidance

Detection of this vulnerability requires checking for Oracle Demand Signal Repository versions 12.2.3 to 12.2.15. Review Oracle E-Business Suite logs for unusual HTTP access patterns or unauthorized data modifications. Check for system crashes or hangs in the Oracle Demand Signal Repository service.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle Demand Signal Repository versions 12.2.3 to 12.2.15, an attacker could gain unauthorized access to modify or delete critical data, leading to data integrity issues. They could also cause frequent system crashes, disrupting operations and availability.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data modification or deletion, violating integrity requirements in GDPR and HIPAA. It may also cause prolonged system unavailability, breaching availability and access control mandates in these regulations.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest Oracle Critical Patch Update (CPU) for Oracle Demand Signal Repository to address the vulnerability. Ensure the component is updated to a version beyond 12.2.15. Restrict network access to HTTP ports used by the component and implement strong access controls for low-privileged users.
