Executive Summary

This is a path traversal vulnerability where an attacker with physical access to a trust-paired device could read or write arbitrary files due to insufficient path validation. It was addressed in iOS 26.7, iPadOS 26.7, iOS 27, and iPadOS 27.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability requires physical access to a trust-paired device, so detection on a network is unlikely. Check for unauthorized file access or modifications on paired devices running iOS 26.7/iPadOS 26.7 or earlier, or iOS 27/iPadOS 27 or earlier.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could access sensitive files on your device, modify or delete them, or install malicious software if they have physical access to a device paired with your system.

Mitigation Strategies

Update all iOS and iPadOS devices to iOS 26.7/iPadOS 26.7 or later, or iOS 27/iPadOS 27 or later. Avoid pairing devices with untrusted systems to prevent physical access exploitation.
