Impact Analysis

This vulnerability could allow attackers to redirect users to phishing sites or malicious pages, potentially leading to credential theft or malware infections. It may also enable unauthorized access to sensitive data if combined with other exploits.

Compliance Impact

The vulnerability allows open redirect and potential unauthorized system access via crafted HTTP headers, which could lead to data breaches or unauthorized data exposure. This may impact compliance with GDPR (data protection) and HIPAA (health data security) by enabling unauthorized access to sensitive information.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately update the ST Engineering iDirect Evolution and Velocity WebServer Evolution to the latest patched version. If no patch is available, restrict network access to the webserver component, disable unnecessary services, and monitor for exploit attempts.
