Description

YesWiki before 4.6.7 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to make server-side GET requests by supplying an unvalidated actor URL to the Bazar abonnements sync action. Attackers can target internal hosts or cloud metadata endpoints and chain attacker-controlled outbox first/next links, with fetched responses stored as readable Bazar entries.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-104464 is a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in YesWiki versions before 4.6.7. It affects the Bazar abonnements sync action, where an unauthenticated attacker can provide an unvalidated actor URL via a GET request. The server then makes HTTP requests to this URL without proper validation, allowing access to internal hosts or cloud metadata endpoints. The vulnerability exists because the actor URL is passed directly to a function that fetches it without scheme or IP restrictions.

Detection Guidance

To detect this SSRF vulnerability in YesWiki, check if your system is running versions 4.6.6 or earlier. Inspect server logs for unusual GET requests to internal hosts or cloud metadata endpoints like http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/. Look for Bazar abonnements sync actions with unvalidated actor URLs.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to make the server send requests to internal systems or cloud metadata endpoints, potentially exposing sensitive data. They could also chain requests to fetch attacker-controlled content, which is stored as readable entries in the Bazar system. This could lead to unauthorized access to internal resources or data leaks.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, violating GDPR's data protection principles and HIPAA's security requirements. It may result in data breaches, unauthorized disclosure of personal or health information, and non-compliance with regulatory standards requiring strict access controls and data protection measures.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately upgrade YesWiki to version 4.6.7 or later. Implement URL validation for the actor parameter, including scheme allowlists and IP restrictions. Add ACL and CSRF checks for the Bazar abonnements sync action. Block internal network access to cloud metadata endpoints.
