Executive Summary

EspoCRM before version 10.0.6 has a stored HTML injection flaw. Unauthenticated attackers can inject HTML code by submitting malicious data through a public Lead Capture form. This injected content is stored in the system and later rendered without proper escaping when administrators view the log record.

Detection Guidance

Check EspoCRM logs for suspicious LeadCaptureLogRecord entries containing HTML tags or unusual form submissions. Inspect network traffic for POST requests to /api/v1/LeadCapture with crafted payloads.

Impact Analysis

The vulnerability allows attackers to inject HTML into stored logs. While JavaScript execution is blocked by Content Security Policy, attackers could still manipulate the display of log entries, potentially tricking administrators into viewing misleading or deceptive information.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could potentially impact compliance with GDPR and HIPAA by allowing unauthorized HTML injection into admin interfaces. While JavaScript execution is blocked by CSP, rendered HTML could still manipulate displayed data, potentially violating integrity requirements for audit logs or sensitive information presentation.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade EspoCRM to version 10.0.6 or later. Review and sanitize all Lead Capture form inputs. Implement strict input validation for public forms. Monitor logs for unauthorized HTML injection attempts.
