Executive Summary

This is a race condition vulnerability in the Fonts component of Google Chrome before version 155.0.8059.39. A race condition occurs when a system tries to perform two or more operations at the same time, but the operations must be done in the correct order. In this case, the flaw allowed a remote attacker who had already compromised the renderer process to execute arbitrary code outside the Chrome sandbox by using a specially crafted HTML page.

Impact Analysis

If you are using an affected version of Google Chrome, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to run malicious code on your system even if you are browsing in a sandboxed environment. This could lead to unauthorized access to your data, installation of malware, or further compromise of your device.

Mitigation Strategies

Update Google Chrome to version 155.0.8059.39 or later to address the race condition in Fonts that could allow arbitrary code execution outside the sandbox.
