Description

ruoyi-ai 3.0.0 through 3.1.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows authenticated users to delete other users' workflows via POST /workflow/del/{uuid}. Attackers can obtain workflow UUIDs from GET /workflow/search and supply them because softDelete() skips the PrivilegeUtil.checkAndGetByUuid() ownership check, removing owners' workflows.

Executive Summary

ruoyi-ai versions 3.0.0 through 3.1.0 have a missing authorization flaw. Authenticated users can delete workflows belonging to other users by sending a POST request to /workflow/del/{uuid}. Attackers can gather workflow UUIDs via GET /workflow/search and exploit this to delete workflows without ownership verification due to a missing check in softDelete().

Detection Guidance

Detecting this vulnerability requires checking for unauthorized deletion of workflows in ruoyi-ai 3.0.0 through 3.1.0. Monitor POST requests to /workflow/del/{uuid} and verify if users can delete workflows they do not own. Check logs for GET /workflow/search followed by POST /workflow/del/{uuid} from the same user.

Impact Analysis

If you use ruoyi-ai 3.0.0 to 3.1.0, an attacker with valid credentials could delete your workflows, causing data loss or workflow disruptions. This could lead to operational delays or loss of critical workflow data.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data deletion, potentially violating GDPR's integrity principle or HIPAA's access controls. Organizations may face compliance violations if workflows containing sensitive data are deleted without authorization.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade ruoyi-ai to a version beyond 3.1.0 where the authorization check is fixed. If upgrading is not possible, implement strict access controls to prevent unauthorized POST /workflow/del/{uuid} requests. Review and restrict user permissions to ensure only owners can delete workflows.
