Executive Summary

JeecgBoot through version 3.9.5 has a missing authorization vulnerability. Any authenticated user can permanently delete data dictionaries by sending a DELETE request to /sys/dict/deletePhysic/{id}. This bypasses the recycle bin and allows low-privileged attackers to irreversibly remove active dictionaries and their items.

Detection Guidance

Check for unauthorized DELETE requests to /sys/dict/deletePhysic/{id} in web server logs. Monitor for unexpected data dictionary deletions or missing dictionary entries.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers with low privileges to delete critical data dictionaries and their entries. This can lead to loss of important business data, disruption of services, and potential data corruption. The impact includes irreversible data loss and operational downtime.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability can lead to non-compliance with GDPR and HIPAA by causing unauthorized data deletion. GDPR requires data integrity and availability, while HIPAA mandates protection and accessibility of health information. Permanent data loss may violate these regulations, resulting in legal penalties and loss of trust.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade JeecgBoot to version 3.9.5 or later. Implement strict access controls to restrict DELETE requests to authorized users only. Review and audit sys/dict endpoints for suspicious activity.
