Executive Summary

CVE-2026-109201 is a missing authorization vulnerability in LogicalDOC Community Edition through version 9.3. It allows authenticated users to bypass permission checks and perform unauthorized actions like copying, deleting, or tampering with documents via SOAP or REST endpoints using sequential document IDs.

Detection Guidance

Check LogicalDOC Community Edition version 9.3 or earlier for unauthorized SOAP or REST document operations. Monitor logs for sequential document ID access attempts in /services/rest/document or SOAP calls to SoapDocumentService. Look for unusual document copy, delete, version management, reindexing, or restore actions by authenticated users.

Impact Analysis

Attackers with valid credentials could access, modify, or delete sensitive documents they shouldn't have permission to. This includes disclosing confidential data, altering documents, or causing denial of service by deleting critical files.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or deletion of sensitive data, violating GDPR's data protection requirements and HIPAA's safeguards for protected health information. Non-compliance may result in legal penalties and reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade LogicalDOC Community Edition to the latest patched version immediately. Ensure proper permission checks are enforced for all document operations. Review and restrict access to SOAP and REST endpoints. Implement network-level controls to block unauthorized document ID manipulation attempts.
