Executive Summary

CVE-2026-109275 is a code injection vulnerability in ImageMagick versions before 6.9.13-57 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32. It occurs in the MVG decoder when a PostScript renderer is used. Attackers can craft an MVG file that injects malicious code into the PostScript rendering path during decoding.

Detection Guidance

Check ImageMagick version with 'convert --version' or 'magick --version'. If using versions before 6.9.13-57 or 7.x before 7.1.2-32, the system is vulnerable. Monitor network traffic for suspicious MVG file processing requests.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code on systems running vulnerable ImageMagick versions when processing a specially crafted MVG file. This could lead to unauthorized access, data manipulation, or system compromise depending on the attacker's goals.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade ImageMagick to patched versions 6.9.13-57 or 7.1.2-32 or later. Disable PostScript renderer usage in ImageMagick configuration if not required. Restrict file uploads to trusted sources only.
