Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a server-side request forgery (SSRF) in conductor-oss conductor 3.22.0. It exists in the MCPService.listTools function where manipulating the mcpServer argument allows an attacker to forge requests to internal systems. The exploit can be initiated remotely and has been publicly disclosed.

Detection Guidance

Detecting this vulnerability requires checking for server-side request forgery (SSRF) in the MCPService.listTools function. Monitor network traffic for unusual outbound requests from the conductor service. Inspect logs for unexpected mcpServer parameter values or connections to internal systems.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to send unauthorized requests to internal services, potentially accessing sensitive data or internal systems. This may lead to data breaches, unauthorized actions, or further network compromise depending on the environment.

Compliance Impact

This SSRF vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data access or exfiltration, violating GDPR's data protection principles or HIPAA's safeguards for protected health information. Compliance may be compromised if sensitive data is exposed.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade conductor-oss conductor to a patched version. Restrict network access to the MCPService component. Validate and sanitize all mcpServer parameter inputs. Implement strict allowlists for outbound requests. Monitor for suspicious activity in logs.
