Executive Summary

This vulnerability is an insecure direct object reference in the waynboot-mall application up to version 2.0.0. It allows authenticated users to manipulate other users' shopping cart items by accessing sequential cart IDs through specific API endpoints like PUT /cart, POST /cart/changeNum, and DELETE /cart/{cartId}.

Detection Guidance

Check for unusual cart ID enumeration attempts by monitoring PUT /cart, POST /cart/changeNum, and DELETE /cart/{cartId} endpoints. Look for sequential or predictable cart IDs being accessed by authenticated users.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could modify or delete items in other users' shopping carts, potentially leading to financial loss, incorrect orders, or disruption of service. This could affect both customers and the business reputation.

Mitigation Strategies

Restrict access to cart modification endpoints to only the cart owner. Implement proper authorization checks to prevent users from accessing or modifying other users' carts. Update to the latest version of waynboot-mall if available.
