Executive Summary

Misaka Danmu Server through version 2.8.9 has a missing authentication vulnerability. Unauthenticated attackers can access specific API routes under /api/ui that should require user authentication. These routes include audit, diagnostics, data-check, scan-index, and health endpoints.

Detection Guidance

Check for unauthenticated access to /api/ui routes like audit, diagnostics, data-check, scan-index, and health. Monitor logs for unusual activity or unauthorized deletions in episode rows or audit history.

Impact Analysis

Attackers can read sensitive data like audit logs containing login IPs, server logs, and environment paths. They can also delete episode rows, clear media-server mappings, and wipe audit history, potentially disrupting server operations or erasing evidence of other attacks.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data such as login IPs and server logs, which may violate GDPR's data protection requirements or HIPAA's safeguards for protected health information if such data is exposed.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Misaka Danmu Server to version 2.8.10 or later. Restrict network access to /api/ui endpoints. Implement authentication for all sensitive routes. Review and remove unnecessary permissions.
