Executive Summary

BeikeShop through version 2.0.0.31 has an insecure direct object reference vulnerability in the markAsShipped handler of RmaController. This allows authenticated customers to modify return orders of other customers by submitting sequential RMA IDs to the account/rmas/{id}/mark_as_shipped endpoint. Attackers can overwrite courier names, tracking numbers, and mark approved returns as shipped without authorization.

Detection Guidance

Monitor API requests to the account/rmas/{id}/mark_as_shipped endpoint for unauthorized sequential RMA ID submissions. Check for discrepancies in courier names or tracking numbers for returns marked as shipped by customers.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers to manipulate return orders, potentially causing financial loss, shipping disruptions, or fraud. Customers may receive incorrect tracking information or have their returns improperly marked as shipped, leading to confusion or loss of goods. Businesses may face reputational damage and operational inefficiencies.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to violations of data integrity and confidentiality requirements under GDPR and HIPAA. Unauthorized modification of return data may breach privacy protections, expose sensitive customer information, and result in non-compliance with regulatory obligations for data security and accountability.

Mitigation Strategies

Restrict access to the markAsShipped handler to authorized personnel only. Implement input validation to prevent sequential RMA ID manipulation. Review and audit all recent RMA status changes for unauthorized modifications.
