Executive Summary

Fuint has an insecure direct object reference vulnerability. Authenticated users can access other members' booking records by changing the bookId value in the URL. This allows reading sensitive data like contact names, phone numbers, verification codes, service details, and store information.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, check if your system running Fuint has the endpoint /clientApi/book/myBookDetail accessible. Test by sending authenticated requests with arbitrary bookId values to see if other members' booking records are exposed. Monitor logs for unusual access patterns or repeated requests with varying bookId values.

Impact Analysis

Attackers could exploit this to steal personal and booking data of other users. This may lead to privacy breaches, identity theft, or fraud. Businesses using Fuint risk reputational damage and legal consequences due to unauthorized data exposure.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability likely violates GDPR due to unauthorized access to personal data and insufficient protection measures. It may also breach HIPAA if health-related booking data is exposed. Organizations could face fines and regulatory penalties for non-compliance.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately restrict access to the /clientApi/book/myBookDetail endpoint to authorized users only. Implement proper authorization checks to ensure users can only access their own booking records. Update Fuint to the latest version if a patch is available. Review and audit all booking records for unauthorized access.
