Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) flaw in the OAuth callback handler of dyad-sh dyad versions up to 1.16.0. It allows attackers to inject malicious OAuth tokens via crafted dyad:// links, which can overwrite a victim's Neon or Supabase account credentials without their knowledge. The attack requires user interaction (opening the link) but no authentication.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow an attacker to replace your Neon or Supabase account credentials with their own. This may lead to data exposure if you create or connect databases afterward, as they would belong to the attacker's account. It compromises data integrity and availability, though the attacker cannot access your existing data directly.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or control over user data, violating GDPR's data integrity and confidentiality principles and HIPAA's safeguards for protected health information. Affected organizations may face compliance breaches if user data is exposed or manipulated due to this flaw.

Mitigation Strategies
  • Upgrade Dyad to version 1.17.0-beta.1 or later to address the OAuth callback vulnerability.
  • Reconnect Neon and Supabase accounts after upgrading to ensure credentials are properly validated.
  • Avoid opening dyad:// links from untrusted sources until the upgrade is completed.
