Executive Summary

This vulnerability involves the exposure of a SQL blacklist to an unauthorized actor in Apache Kylin. A blacklist typically contains restricted SQL commands or patterns to prevent malicious queries. If exposed, attackers could learn which SQL operations are blocked, helping them craft bypass techniques for SQL injection or other attacks.

Detection Guidance

Detection requires checking Apache Kylin versions between 4.0 and 5.0.4. Verify installed version using commands like 'kylin.sh version' or check package managers. Inspect logs for unauthorized SQL query attempts or blacklist bypass patterns.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow attackers to identify weaknesses in your Apache Kylin SQL blacklist. This knowledge might enable them to execute unauthorized SQL queries, potentially leading to data breaches, unauthorized data access, or manipulation of sensitive information stored in the system.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Apache Kylin to version 5.0.5 or later to address the vulnerability.
