Executive Summary

This is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the click5 CRM add-on for Gravity Forms WordPress plugin up to version 1.0.3. It allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts via an unprotected endpoint. The scripts are stored and executed when high-privilege users like admins view affected admin pages.

Detection Guidance

Check if the click5 CRM add-on to Gravity Forms plugin version 1.0.3 or below is installed. Look for unauthenticated input fields that may reflect user-supplied data in admin pages. Use WPScan to scan for vulnerable plugins with: wpscan --url <your-site-url> --enumerate vp,vt.

Impact Analysis

Attackers could steal session cookies, perform actions as admin, or take over the WordPress site. High-privilege users accessing compromised admin pages risk executing injected scripts, potentially leading to full site compromise or data theft.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, violating GDPR and HIPAA requirements for data protection and access controls. A successful exploit may result in data breaches, triggering compliance violations and potential fines.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately update the plugin to the latest version if available. If no update exists, disable or uninstall the plugin until a patch is released. Monitor admin pages for unusual activity or injected scripts.
