Executive Summary

CVE-2026-88424 is a critical SQL injection flaw in FineAdmin v1.0, specifically in the ButtonService.GetListByFilter() method. The vulnerability occurs because user-supplied parameters 'field' and 'order' are directly concatenated into an SQL ORDER BY clause without validation. Attackers can exploit this to inject malicious SQL statements and access sensitive database information.

Detection Guidance

To detect this SQL injection vulnerability in FineAdmin v1.0, inspect network traffic for requests to endpoints like /Permissions/Button/List with unusual field or order parameters. Look for error messages in responses indicating SQL syntax issues. Use tools like SQLmap with targeted payloads such as ' ORDER BY 1-- or ' UNION SELECT 1,2,3-- to test for injection points.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers to extract sensitive data like password hashes, enumerate database tables, and perform unauthorized actions. Since it is remotely exploitable without authentication, any internet-facing instance of FineAdmin v1.0 is at risk. Attackers could also manipulate data integrity or disrupt system availability through crafted SQL queries.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability likely violates compliance requirements under GDPR and HIPAA due to unauthorized access to sensitive data. GDPR mandates protection of personal data, while HIPAA requires safeguarding protected health information. A successful exploit could lead to data breaches, resulting in legal penalties, reputational damage, and regulatory fines.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately update FineAdmin to a patched version that validates and sanitizes the field and order parameters. Implement strict whitelisting for allowed sort columns. Disable unauthenticated access to sensitive endpoints and review the HandlerLoginAttribute to ensure proper authorization checks are enforced.
