Executive Summary

This vulnerability is an unauthenticated SQL injection in the ASPL Product Quotation WordPress plugin version 1.1.0 or below. It occurs because the plugin does not properly sanitize and escape the 'quote_id' parameter before using it in SQL statements. Attackers can exploit this to inject malicious SQL queries and access or manipulate sensitive database information without authentication.

Detection Guidance

Check if the ASPL Product Quotation WordPress plugin version 1.1.0 or below is installed. Look for unauthenticated SQL injection attempts targeting the 'quote_id' parameter in HTTP requests.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers to read arbitrary data from the database, potentially exposing sensitive information such as user credentials, personal data, or other confidential details stored in the WordPress site's database. Since no authentication is required, any unpatched version of the plugin is at risk.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access and exposure of personal data, which may violate compliance requirements under GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations. Organizations using this plugin without a fix may face legal penalties, data breach notifications, and reputational damage due to non-compliance with data protection standards.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately update the ASPL Product Quotation plugin to the latest version if available. If no update exists, consider disabling or removing the plugin until a patch is released. Monitor database access logs for suspicious queries.
