Executive Summary

This vulnerability affects the WP Fusion Lite WordPress plugin versions 3.37.14 through 3.47.14. It allows unauthenticated users to update the site's CRM integration settings without authorization. This happens because a settings handler lacks authentication and runs during admin initialization. Attackers can overwrite the CRM endpoint and credentials, redirecting synced user data to a server of their choice.

Detection Guidance

Check if your WP Fusion Lite plugin version is between 3.37.14 and 3.47.14. If so, the vulnerability is present. You can verify the version via WordPress admin panel under Plugins or by checking the plugin files for version details.

Impact Analysis

Unauthenticated attackers could gain control over where your website's user data is sent. This means sensitive user information synced via the plugin could be intercepted by malicious servers controlled by attackers. It could lead to data breaches, unauthorized access to user data, and potential misuse of personal information.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to non-compliance with GDPR and HIPAA. GDPR requires protecting personal data and ensuring it is not sent to unauthorized servers. HIPAA mandates safeguarding protected health information. A breach could result in legal penalties, fines, and reputational damage due to unauthorized data exposure.

Mitigation Strategies

Update WP Fusion Lite to version 3.48.0 or later immediately. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the plugin temporarily until an update is applied.
