Executive Summary

This vulnerability allows access to a service menu on a device through physical access. The menu reveals sensitive details like serial numbers, MAC addresses, WiFi network names, and passwords.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability requires physical access to the device to access the service menu. It cannot be detected remotely via network commands. Check for unauthorized physical access to devices or unusual activity near them.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with physical access could extract WiFi credentials, device identifiers, or network details, potentially leading to unauthorized network access or tracking of devices.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability exposes sensitive information such as MAC addresses, WiFi network details, and passwords through an obfuscated service menu accessible with physical access. This could lead to unauthorized network access or data breaches, potentially violating GDPR (data protection) and HIPAA (confidentiality requirements) if the exposed data includes personal or health information.

Mitigation Strategies

Restrict physical access to devices to prevent unauthorized use of the service menu. Ensure devices are stored in secure locations and monitor for tampering.
