Executive Summary

This vulnerability is an uninitialized resource issue in the GPU component of Google Chrome versions before 154.0.8037.57. A remote attacker who already compromised the renderer process could exploit this to read memory outside the sandbox by using a specially crafted HTML page.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability is specific to Google Chrome versions prior to 154.0.8037.57. To detect it, check your Chrome version by running chrome --version or chrome://version in the browser. If your version is below 154.0.8037.57, the system is vulnerable.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow an attacker to access sensitive data in memory outside the browser's sandbox. This might include passwords, cookies, or other private information, potentially leading to further compromise of user accounts or systems.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability involves uninitialized memory access in GPU components of Google Chrome, which could allow a remote attacker to read memory outside the sandbox. This may lead to unauthorized data exposure, potentially violating confidentiality requirements in GDPR and HIPAA.

Mitigation Strategies

Update Google Chrome to version 154.0.8037.57 or later to address the uninitialized resource vulnerability in GPU.
