Executive Summary

CVE-2025-68392 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability in ARKETEAM Protectel's PROTECTELMAJ and BDF modules. Low-privileged users can exploit this by forging direct requests to specific endpoints to perform actions normally restricted to admin users.

Detection Guidance

Check the versions of PROTECTELMAJ and BDF modules. If they are below v6.5.19 and v6.4.67 respectively, the system is vulnerable. Monitor network traffic for unauthorized requests to admin endpoints.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows unauthorized users to perform administrative functions, potentially leading to data breaches, unauthorized access to sensitive information, or system misuse. It could compromise the integrity and security of financial compliance data managed by the Protectel platform.

Compliance Impact

The vulnerability could undermine compliance with GDPR and other regulations by enabling unauthorized access to sensitive data, violating data protection requirements. Protectel's features like fine-grained access control and audit trails are designed to ensure compliance, but this flaw may compromise those safeguards.

Mitigation Strategies

Update PROTECTELMAJ to v6.5.19 and BDF to v6.4.67 immediately. Review user permissions to ensure no low-privileged accounts have admin-level access. Monitor logs for suspicious activity.
