CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.

Executive Summary

ARKETEAM Protectel modules PROTECTELMAJ and BDF have a SQL injection vulnerability due to improper input neutralization in the 'profilInput' parameter. This allows low-privileged users to execute SQL Injection attacks.

Detection Guidance

Detecting SQL injection vulnerabilities like CVE-2025-68394 requires checking for improper input handling in the 'profilInput' parameter of ARKETEAM Protectel modules PROTECTELMAJ and BDF. Use network traffic analysis tools like Wireshark to inspect HTTP requests for suspicious SQL patterns such as single quotes, semicolons, or SQL keywords (e.g., UNION, SELECT). Test inputs with payloads like ' OR '1'='1 to observe abnormal database responses.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to manipulate or access sensitive database information, potentially leading to data breaches, unauthorized data modification, or system compromise.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to non-compliance with GDPR or HIPAA due to unauthorized data access or exposure, potentially resulting in legal penalties or reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately update PROTECTELMAJ to v6.5.19 and BDF to v6.4.67 to patch the SQL injection flaw. If updates are unavailable, restrict access to the 'profilInput' parameter via network segmentation or firewall rules. Implement input validation to sanitize user inputs and use prepared statements in database queries to prevent SQL injection attacks.
