Executive Summary

This is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe Substance3D Stager. It occurs when the software tries to read data past the end of an allocated memory structure while processing a specially crafted file. This flaw could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the same privileges as the user running the application.

Detection Guidance

Detection of this vulnerability requires analyzing files processed by Adobe Substance 3D Stager for out-of-bounds read patterns. Monitor for crashes or memory corruption when opening files. Check for suspicious file extensions or sources. Use memory debugging tools like AddressSanitizer during file parsing to detect out-of-bounds reads.

Impact Analysis

If you open a malicious file, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to run malicious code on your system. This could lead to unauthorized access, data theft, or installation of malware. The impact depends on your system's permissions and the actions taken by the attacker.

Compliance Impact
