Description

The WP Data Access WordPress plugin before 5.5.84 does not restrict its database table export action to authorized users, gating it only with a token that the WP Data Access WordPress plugin before 5.5.84 itself prints into the public pages on which it displays a table, allowing unauthenticated attackers to export the complete contents of any publicly displayed table, including columns and rows withheld from the display shown to visitors.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-106099 is a vulnerability in the WP Data Access WordPress plugin before version 5.5.84. It allows unauthenticated attackers to export the full contents of any database table displayed on a public page by exploiting a publicly exposed token in the HTML of those pages. The plugin does not restrict export functionality to authorized users.

Detection Guidance

Check if the WP Data Access plugin is installed and verify its version. If it is below 5.5.84, the system is vulnerable. Inspect public pages for exposed tokens in HTML source that could allow unauthorized data export.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability can lead to unauthorized disclosure of sensitive data stored in WordPress database tables. Attackers could access hidden columns or rows that are normally restricted from public view, potentially exposing confidential information like user details, financial data, or other sensitive content.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could violate compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, or other privacy regulations by exposing protected personal or health data. Unauthorized data disclosure may result in legal penalties, reputational damage, and loss of trust due to non-compliance with data protection requirements.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the WP Data Access plugin to version 5.5.84 or later immediately to patch the vulnerability. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the plugin temporarily until an update is applied.
