Executive Summary

This is a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in Apache Kylin. It allows attackers to send crafted requests from the server to internal systems, potentially accessing unauthorized resources. The impact is most significant on Kylin job services exposed to public networks, which is uncommon in typical deployments.

Impact Analysis

If you run a Kylin job service directly exposed to the internet, attackers could exploit this to make unauthorized requests to internal systems. This could lead to data breaches, unauthorized access to sensitive information, or further network compromise. Most in-house deployments are not affected.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Apache Kylin to version 5.0.5 or later to address the SSRF vulnerability. Ensure the kylin job service is not directly exposed to the public network if possible.
