Executive Summary

This vulnerability affects the GiveWP WordPress plugin before version 4.19.0.1. It allows unauthenticated users to view unpublished donation forms, including draft, pending, private, and scheduled forms, which should remain hidden. The issue occurs because the plugin does not check user status or capabilities when displaying forms on public pages.

Detection Guidance

Check if your GiveWP plugin version is below 4.19.0.1 by inspecting the plugin files or WordPress admin panel. Look for unpublished donation forms accessible via public URLs without authentication.

Impact Analysis

Unauthenticated users could access sensitive donation form content and settings that were meant to be private. This may expose unpublished campaigns, donor information, or other confidential data. Attackers could exploit this to gather intelligence or prepare further attacks.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to personal or sensitive data, potentially violating GDPR or HIPAA requirements for data protection and access controls. Organizations using the affected plugin may face compliance risks if donor or user data is exposed.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the GiveWP plugin to version 4.19.0.1 or later immediately. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the plugin temporarily until the update is applied.
