Proxy Endpoint Authorization Bypass in Feishu Extension

Vulnerability report for CVE-2026-112237, including description, CVSS score, EPSS score, affected products, exploitability, helpful resources, and attack-flow context.

Publication date: 2026-10-20

Last updated on: 2026-10-20

Assigner: TYPO3

Description

The extension provides a public proxy endpoint that fetches a URL on behalf of the visitor. For one HTTP request method, the endpoint does not apply the authorization check that protects the other methods, so the URL it fetches is fully controlled by the requester. An unauthenticated attacker can make the server send requests to arbitrary internal or external hosts. The attacker receives the status code and selected response headers, which allows probing of internal hosts and ports. Response bodies are not disclosed.

Executive Summary

This is a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the TYPO3 extension Kitodo.Presentation. The extension has a public proxy endpoint that fetches URLs for visitors. One HTTP request method lacks proper authorization checks, allowing unauthenticated attackers to send requests to arbitrary internal or external hosts. Attackers can observe status codes and selected response headers but cannot see response bodies.

Detection Guidance

Check if the TYPO3 extension 'Kitodo.Presentation' is installed and verify its version. If it is version 6.0.0 or below, or 7.0.0 to 7.0.1, the system is vulnerable. Inspect network traffic for unusual outbound requests from the server hosting the extension.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to probe internal hosts and ports, potentially accessing sensitive internal services or data. While response bodies are hidden, the ability to check status codes and headers may reveal internal network structure or service availability, posing a risk to confidentiality and network integrity.

Compliance Impact

This SSRF vulnerability could lead to unauthorized network probing, potentially exposing sensitive data or internal systems. This may violate compliance requirements under GDPR (data protection) or HIPAA (health information security) by allowing unauthorized access to internal resources or data leaks.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the 'Kitodo.Presentation' extension to version 6.0.1 or 7.0.2 immediately. Disable the public proxy endpoint if not required. Monitor for unauthorized outbound requests and restrict internal network access.
