Executive Summary

CVE-2026-113596 is an information disclosure vulnerability in Webstudio versions before 0.256.0. It allows authenticated users to read other users' project data by exploiting missing authorization checks in two tRPC procedures: publishedBuilds and findManyByIds. Attackers can query the /trpc handler with a known project UUID to retrieve sensitive details like publish history, titles, domains, preview images, and latest builds.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, check if your Webstudio instance is running a version before 0.256.0. Inspect the tRPC endpoints /trpc for publishedBuilds and findManyByIds procedures. Test by querying these endpoints with known project UUIDs to see if unauthorized data is returned.

Impact Analysis

If you are an authenticated user on a vulnerable Webstudio instance, an attacker could access your project data if they know your project UUID. This could lead to exposure of sensitive information such as project titles, domains, preview images, and build history. The impact is limited to data exposure and does not allow modification or deletion of projects.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to non-compliance with data protection regulations like GDPR or HIPAA by exposing sensitive project data to unauthorized users. Organizations using Webstudio before 0.256.0 may face legal and regulatory penalties due to unauthorized data access. Immediate patching to version 0.256.0 or later is recommended to mitigate risks.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Webstudio to version 0.256.0 or later immediately. Ensure the fix includes authorization checks for publishedBuilds and user ID filtering in findManyByIds. Verify the changes by testing access to project data.
