Executive Summary

MacCMS v10 through 2026.1000.4056 has a race condition in Card::useData() that allows authenticated users to exploit the user/buy endpoint. By sending multiple concurrent requests with flag=card, attackers can redeem a single recharge card multiple times before the system marks it as used. This inflates user_points, enabling unauthorized purchases like VIP upgrades or paid content.

Detection Guidance

Detecting this race condition vulnerability requires monitoring for multiple concurrent requests to the user/buy endpoint with flag=card parameters. Check server logs for repeated card redemption attempts from the same user or IP within a short timeframe. Look for non-locking card read operations that fail to update the card status properly.

Impact Analysis

If you are a user of MacCMS, an attacker could exploit this to fraudulently increase their account balance or access premium features without payment. For administrators, this could lead to financial losses from unauthorized VIP upgrades or content access, as well as reputational damage due to compromised user accounts.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately patch MacCMS to the latest version. Implement database-level locking for card redemption operations to prevent race conditions. Add rate limiting to the user/buy endpoint to block excessive concurrent requests. Review user_points values for suspicious inflations and revert unauthorized VIP upgrades or paid content purchases.
