Description

Thelia before 3.2.0 contains a cross-site request forgery vulnerability in the back office that allows attackers to forge administrative actions because per-session CSRF tokens leak via URL query strings. Attackers can reuse leaked tokens or target the unprotected setToggleVisibilityAction and updatePositionAction to make logged-in administrators delete, hide or reorder catalogue and configuration objects.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-120206 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in Thelia versions before 3.2.0. It occurs because per-session CSRF tokens are exposed in URL query strings, allowing attackers to reuse these tokens or target unprotected actions like setToggleVisibilityAction and updatePositionAction. This lets attackers trick logged-in administrators into performing unauthorized actions such as deleting, hiding, or reordering catalogue and configuration objects.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, inspect Thelia admin panel URLs for CSRF tokens in query strings. Check if state-changing actions (delete, toggle visibility, reorder) use GET requests. Review server logs for exposed tokens in URLs or browser history. Use network inspection tools to monitor admin panel requests for token exposure.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow attackers to perform unauthorized administrative actions on your Thelia-based website. This includes deleting or hiding catalogue items, reordering configurations, or modifying settings without your consent. Attackers could trick administrators into clicking malicious links, leading to irreversible changes or data loss.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could impact compliance by allowing unauthorized modifications to sensitive data, potentially violating integrity and confidentiality requirements under GDPR or HIPAA. Unauthorized deletions or alterations of user data or configurations may lead to non-compliance with data protection regulations.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Thelia to version 3.2.0 or later. Ensure state-changing actions only accept POST requests. Configure thelia.token.accept_query_string to false to disable token acceptance via URLs. Review admin templates to replace token-bearing URLs with POST forms.
