Description

SQL injection (SQLi) vulnerability—specifically a UNION-based vulnerability—in the Integratec application that affects the sInfo parameter sent via POST to the endpoint /login/ap_Login.aspx/start. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to steal data from the database, such as credentials and user information, and cause errors and partial denial-of-service conditions. Furthermore, this vulnerability could facilitate other types of follow-up attacks, such as data exfiltration or privilege escalation.

CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.

Executive Summary

This is a UNION-based SQL injection vulnerability in the Integratec application. It affects the sInfo parameter sent via POST to the /login/ap_Login.aspx/start endpoint. Attackers can exploit it to inject malicious SQL queries, potentially stealing sensitive data like credentials and user information.

Detection Guidance

To detect this SQL injection vulnerability, monitor POST requests to the /login/ap_Login.aspx/start endpoint for suspicious input in the sInfo parameter. Use tools like SQLmap to test for UNION-based SQLi by sending crafted payloads such as ' OR 1=1 --. Inspect server logs for error messages indicating SQL syntax issues.

Example commands: sqlmap -u 'http://target.com/login/ap_Login.aspx/start' --data='sInfo=test' --batch --risk=3 --level=5

Impact Analysis

Exploitation could lead to theft of credentials and user data, database errors, partial denial-of-service, data exfiltration, or privilege escalation. Attackers may gain unauthorized access to sensitive information or disrupt services.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data access or breaches, violating GDPR (data protection) and HIPAA (health information privacy) requirements. Non-compliance may result in legal penalties, fines, or reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately restrict access to the /login/ap_Login.aspx/start endpoint via network rules. Implement input validation for the sInfo parameter to block SQL special characters. Monitor database queries for unusual UNION-based patterns. Consider deploying a WAF to filter malicious payloads.
