Executive Summary

This is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Gym Management Software IsMyGym by Zuinq Studio. It affects the reservation endpoint where the 'ret' parameter is reflected in the HTTP response without proper sanitization. An attacker can exploit this to inject malicious JavaScript code that executes in the victim's browser.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, inspect the reservation endpoint of IsMyGym for unsanitized 'ret' parameter reflection. Use browser developer tools to check HTTP responses for reflected input. Test with payloads like <script>alert(1)</script> in the 'ret' parameter to see if it executes.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could trick a user into clicking a malicious link, leading to the execution of arbitrary JavaScript in the user's browser. This could result in session hijacking, theft of sensitive data, or unauthorized actions on behalf of the user.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to user data, potentially violating GDPR (data protection) and HIPAA (health information privacy) by exposing sensitive personal or health-related information.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately update IsMyGym to version v6.0.85 or later. If updating is not possible, implement input validation and output encoding for the 'ret' parameter. Use Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to mitigate XSS impact.
