Description

SQL injection (SQLi) vulnerability in the eLoanApp application, specifically in the POST parameter 'logina' of the user process endpoint '/ajax/users.php?op=verify'. The parameter is vulnerable to boolean-based and time-based SQL injection. Successfully exploiting this vulnerability would allow an attacker to discover the platform's database engine and cause delays in database queries.

CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.

Executive Summary

This is a SQL injection (SQLi) vulnerability in the eLoanApp application. It exists in the POST parameter 'logina' of the user verification endpoint '/ajax/users.php?op=verify'. The vulnerability allows boolean-based and time-based SQL injection attacks.

Detection Guidance

To detect SQL injection vulnerabilities like CVE-2026-4889, test the POST parameter 'logina' in the '/ajax/users.php?op=verify' endpoint. Use tools like SQLmap with: sqlmap -u 'http://target/ajax/users.php?op=verify' --data='logina=test' --batch --level=5 --risk=3. Alternatively, manually test with payloads like ' OR 1=1 -- and observe responses for errors or delays.

Monitor network traffic for unusual POST requests to '/ajax/users.php?op=verify' with suspicious parameters. Check application logs for SQL error messages or query delays.

Impact Analysis

Exploiting this vulnerability could let attackers identify the database engine and cause delays in database queries. This may lead to unauthorized data access, data corruption, or service disruption.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, which may violate compliance requirements under GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations. Data breaches or unauthorized access can result in legal penalties and reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately restrict access to the '/ajax/users.php?op=verify' endpoint via firewall rules. Implement input validation to sanitize the 'logina' parameter. Temporarily disable the endpoint if no patch is available. Monitor for exploitation attempts in logs.
