Executive Summary

This is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the SABBATIC application. It allows an attacker to inject malicious JavaScript code into the 'nombre' parameter of the '/usuario' endpoint. When a user views the affected page, the injected code executes in their browser.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, inspect the 'nombre' parameter in the '/usuario' endpoint of the SABBATIC application for stored JavaScript code. Check for unusual input patterns or scripts in user profiles. Use browser developer tools to monitor network requests and responses for suspicious payloads.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could use this vulnerability to execute unauthorized actions or steal data from users who view the affected page. This may include session hijacking, defacement, or accessing sensitive information.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to data breaches, which may violate GDPR and HIPAA requirements for protecting user data. Organizations using the affected SABBATIC application may face compliance penalties.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the SABBATIC application to version 7.96.0.1 or later. Implement input validation and output encoding for the 'nombre' parameter. Sanitize user inputs to prevent script injection. Monitor affected endpoints for unauthorized changes.
