Executive Summary

This is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the SABBATIC application. It allows an attacker to store malicious JavaScript code in specific parameters of the '/categorías' endpoint. When a user views the affected page, the stored code executes in their browser, potentially enabling unauthorized actions or data theft.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to execute arbitrary JavaScript in your browser when you view the affected page. This may lead to session hijacking, stealing sensitive data like cookies or credentials, or performing actions on your behalf without consent.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to personal data, violating GDPR's integrity and confidentiality principles. For HIPAA, it may expose protected health information, risking compliance with safeguard requirements. Both standards mandate protecting against such attacks to ensure data security.

Mitigation Strategies

Update SABBATIC to versions 7.96.0.1 or 7.96.0.2 or later to address the vulnerability.
