Description

Omnispace Agora Project before 26.10.0 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in the calendar functionality that allows attackers to inject malicious SQL by manipulating the sortEvents parameter, which is concatenated into the ORDER BY clause without sanitization in app/ModCalendar/CtrlCalendar.php. Attackers can exploit this flaw using error-based techniques such as extractvalue payloads to extract database information, including version data, from the underlying system.

CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-63165 is a high-severity SQL injection vulnerability in Omnispace Agora Project versions before 26.10.0. It exists in the calendar functionality due to improper handling of the sortEvents parameter, which is directly inserted into an ORDER BY clause without sanitization in app/ModCalendar/CtrlCalendar.php. Attackers can exploit this by injecting malicious SQL, such as error-based payloads like extractvalue, to extract sensitive database information including version details.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, inspect network traffic for SQL injection attempts targeting the sortEvents parameter in calendar functionality. Check application logs for unusual ORDER BY clause errors or extractvalue payloads. Use tools like SQLmap to test for SQL injection in the sortEvents parameter of Omnispace Agora Project versions before 26.10.0.

Commands: 1) curl -X POST 'http://target.com/path?sortEvents=1' 2) sqlmap -u 'http://target.com/path?sortEvents=1' --batch

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers to extract sensitive database information, including version data, from the underlying system. If exploited, it could lead to unauthorized data access, data breaches, or further attacks on the database infrastructure.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, which may violate compliance requirements under GDPR and HIPAA. GDPR requires protection of personal data, while HIPAA mandates safeguards for protected health information. A successful exploit could result in non-compliance penalties and legal consequences.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately upgrade Omnispace Agora Project to version 26.10.0 or later. If upgrading is not possible, apply input validation to sanitize the sortEvents parameter before it is used in SQL queries. Disable error-based SQL injection techniques by configuring the application to suppress detailed database errors.
