Description

Coop is an open source review and moderation tool from ROOST. Prior to 1.0.2, `addAccessibleQueuesForUser` and `removeAccessibleQueuesForUser` accepted arbitrary `queueId` and `userId` values without organization scoping. An authenticated user belonging to one organization and holding MRT queue-edit permission could grant or revoke another organization's users' access to manual review queues. The existing queue-edit permission check did not bind the supplied identifiers to the caller's organization. The attacker could not read the other organization's queues or jobs, so this issue did not disclose confidential data. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.2.

Executive Summary

This vulnerability exists in Coop, an open source review and moderation tool. It allows authenticated users with MRT queue-edit permission to grant or revoke access to manual review queues for users in other organizations without proper scoping. The issue stems from functions accepting arbitrary queueId and userId values without verifying organization boundaries.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could misuse this to disrupt another organization's workflow by granting unauthorized users access to their review queues or revoking legitimate users' access. While it doesn't expose confidential data, it could cause operational disruption or confusion in manual review processes.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Coop to version 1.0.2 or later to address the vulnerability in queue access controls.
